Valzaar

Valzaar (Valsartan) is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist that prevents the narrowing of blood vessels in the body. This makes it useful for treating patients with high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure.

Valzaar (Valsartan) should be exactly as directed by your physician to get the best results. The best dosage will be determined by the condition being treated and the severity of your symptoms. The tablets should be swallowed whole with a large glass of water and may be taken on an empty stomach. Never crush or split the tablets to avoid destroying or altering the effects of their contents.

Side effects that may occur in some patients using Valzaar (Valsartan) include:

• Headaches
• Flu symptoms
• Vomiting
• Back pain
• Vision problems

Immediately inform your physician if any serious side effects occur such as severe fatigue, swelling, high levels of potassium, or urinary retention. It is also important to inform your physician if you experience signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling, hives, or difficulty breathing.

Valzaar (Valsartan) should not be used by patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, young children, or biliary cirrhosis. Also inform your physician if you have mitral valve stenosis, low fluid volume in the body, severe heart failure, or decreased liver or kidney function.
