Denosyl (S-Adenosylmethionine) is a supplement which is used to treat dogs in the medium weight range. Many pet owners give it to their dogs to support and maintain a healthy liver, as well as promoting brain health. When metabolised, it helps to raise glutathione levels in the liver, which is important for the protection and support of liver health, as it can protect the liver cells and aid in the regeneration of these cells. It is also believed that the active ingredient in this supplement may help to protect brain health, due to its function as a neuroprotector.
The appropriate dosage for dogs being treated with Denosyl (S-Adenosylmethionine) will depend on its weight. Dog owners will be told by the vet how much to give their dog. Dogs in the 6kg to 15.5kg weight range are normally treated with one 225mg tablet per day. It may be possible to lower the dosage for maintenance treatment, and the dog`s dosage may be reduced to one tablet every other day or else every third day. These tablets should be given to the dog on an empty stomach (one hour or more before it consumes food).
Observe your dog for signs of side effects after you give it Denosyl (S-Adenosylmethionine) and if you think that it is sick, take it to a vet straight away. Vets generally believe that this supplement is safe, and side effects are not considered common.
This supplement is indicated for veterinary use only, and is never to be taken by humans.
Do not break or divide the tablets.
