Wellbutrin

Wellbutrin (Bupropion Hydrochloride) is an antidepressant medication prescribed for the treatment of major depressive disorder. The medication balances levels of chemicals in the brain to relieve symptoms such as fatigue, feelings of worthlessness, or anxiety. This action may also make it useful for treating seasonal affective disorder, ADHD, or to aid patients who are attempting to quit smoking.

Wellbutrin (Bupropion Hydrochloride) comes in the form of 150mg or 300mg tablets that are administered orally. The correct dosage will be determined by your physician and may differ depending on the condition being treated and your symptoms. The normal dosage is one tablet taken once each day along with a full glass of water. Note that it may take several weeks of use before the desired effects of the medication appear. Do not stop using the medication unless directed to do so by your doctor to prevent a return of your symptoms.

Treatment with Wellbutrin (Bupropion Hydrochloride) may cause side effects such as:

• Dizziness
• Feeling drowsy
• Weight loss
• Perspiring excessively
• Joint aches

Inform your physician if you are worried about any side effects. Seek medical attention immediately if you notice hallucinations, blisters, fever, confusion, itchiness or any other symptoms of a severe allergic reaction.

Do not use Wellbutrin (Bupropion Hydrochloride) if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have an eating disorder, epilepsy, or if you are taking other MAOI medications. Also inform your physician if you have high blood pressure, diabetes, or drink large amounts of alcohol to prevent unexpected health problems.
