Susten Gel (Progesterone) is a vaginal gel prescribed to treat infertility in women by regulating ovulation and stimulating the release of an egg from the ovaries. It works by increasing progesterone levels to trigger the release of an egg from the ovaries so that it may be fertilized naturally. The gel may also be used during in vitro fertilization (IVF) when infertility, in women who have normal ovulatory menstrual cycles, may be due to problems with the fallopian tubes or the womb. Your physician may also recommend the use of this medication for other unlisted purposes.

Susten Gel (Progesterone) is normally applied once daily, but the correct dosage commonly depends on the patient and the condition being treated. Do not adjust your dosage without the approval of your health care provider. The gel should be applied directly inside the vagina using the applicator included with the medication. The applicator should be inserted into the vagina and a small amount of cream dispensed. Thoroughly clean the applicator after each use to prevent it from becoming contaminated or causing a vaginal infection. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage, start date and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient`s condition and their response to the therapy.

Patients using Susten Gel (Progesterone)l may encounter unwanted side effects such as:

• Stomach pain
• Diarrhea
• Nausea
• Headaches
• Vaginal spotting
• Breast swelling or pain

Serious side effects that may require emergency medical attention are faintness, irregular heartbeats, chest pain, swelling of the extremities, fever, flu symptoms, depression, lump in the breast, migraines, vaginal bleeding, darkened urine, discolored stools, or jaundice. These conditions may require lower doses or reduced administration frequency to prevent more health problems from occurring.

Susten Gel (Progesterone) should not be used to treat patients who are breastfeeding, who have porphyrias, or who have unexplained vaginal bleeding. You are also recommended to inform your physician about any other chronic health conditions you have that may cause unexpected probles during treatment requiring special alterations to your regimen.

Susten Gel (Progesterone) is not always suitable for all patients. Always consult your healthcare provider prior to using this medication if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health problems.
