Procto-Glyvenol

Procto-Glyvenol (Lidocaine Hydrochloride/Tribenoside) rectal cream is indicated for the treatment of hemorrhoids. Its mechanism of action is alleviating soreness and promoting wound healing. Tribenoside helps to relieve inflammation and pain, while also preventing blood clots by promoting fibrinolysis. Experts have suggested that it may work for hemorrhoids by acting on the epidermal cells and regulating types of glycoproteins called laminins, which helps contribute to the reconstruction of basement membranes, thereby contributing to the healing process of the hemorrhoids.

Lidocaine hydrochloride is widely used for topical pain relief. It is classified as a local anesthetic, and it can significantly reduce pain by producing a numbing effect. This is achieved by acting on the neuronal cell membranes so as to prevent the occurrence of pain signals. Pain can therefore be stopped. Use of this cream is considered effective, due to its dual mode of action, which includes both the promotion of the healing process and the effective numbing of pain.

Procto-Glyvenol (Lidocaine Hydrochloride/Tribenoside) hemorrhoid cream is indicated for local use, and should be applied directly to the affected area (the anus). Visit your physician to discuss the most effective treatment options for your condition. In most cases, adults will be instructed by their physician to apply the cream twice per day (in the morning and at night). This will usually continue until the acute symptoms have lessened, after which the physician may decrease the required of daily applications to once per day. In all cases, the duration of treatment will be decided upon by the physician based on how the patient responds to treatment.

Application of Procto-Glyvenol (Lidocaine Hydrochloride/Tribenoside) could trigger some side effects. Inform your physician if this happens. Some examples are listed here:

Under no circumstances should this cream be applied to or allowed to get into the eyes. Wash your hands thoroughly after application in order to prevent this.
