Ultraproct Ointment (Cinchocaine HCL/Fluocortolone) is prescribed to help relieve anal itchiness and other symptoms of hemorrhoids. It is a corticosteroid (steroid) with additional anesthetic benefits that operates by reducing inflammation, itchiness, soreness, and redness caused by this condition.

Follow the instructions of your physician while using Ultraproct Ointment (Cinchocaine HCL/Fluocortolone) to get the safest and most effective results from treatment. Do not attempt to self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your physician to prevent adverse effects. Most patients will be directed to apply a small amount of ointment twice daily, but your particular directions will depend on the severity of your symptoms.

Before applying the ointment it is important to clean and dry the area being treated to remove any dirt or loose skin. Squeeze a small amount of medication onto your finger, gently apply it to the affected area, and massage it into the skin. If the ointment is to be used inside the anus it is recommended to use the included nozzle for application. You may be recommended to wear latex gloves while applying the ointment to prevent spreading the infection. Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water after each use to prevent the medication from contacting any areas not being treated or the mucous membranes.

Side effects that may occur while using Ultraproct Ointment (Cinchocaine HCL/Fluocortolone) include thinning skin or decreased function of the adrenal gland. Stop using the ointment and contact your physician immediately if you experience any side effects that are worrying to you or symptoms of an allergic reaction such as hives, swelling, or trouble breathing.

Ultraproct Ointment (Cinchocaine HCL/Fluocortolone) should not be used to treat patients with easily damaged skin or untreated fungal, bacterial, or viral infections.
