Mobicam-DT (Piroxicam) belongs to the oxicam class of NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) which helps provide relief from pain and inflammation. Its mechanism of action is the inhibition of cyclo-oxygenase (COX) activity. This prevents certain chemicals from being synthesized in the body, in particular, prostaglandins (substances that the body releases which are known to trigger pain and inflammation). Indications include rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, as well as other conditions. It has even been studied for acute gout.
Mobicam-DT (Piroxicam) dispersible tablets each contain 20mg of the active ingredient. Your physician will provide you with dosage instructions, so as to ensure that the correct amount can be taken. Adult patients being treated for pain or arthritis are sometimes told by their physician to take 20mg once per day. Generally, it is best to take the tablets at the same time each day. Never exceed the dosage recommended by your physician, as this could pose a serious health risk.
Patients taking the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug Mobicam-DT (Piroxicam) should be aware that side effects can occur. Inform your physician if this happens. A list of examples is given here:
In addition to mild reactions, serious adverse events that will require medical care immediately are possible. These can include fever, low levels of energy, seizures, blisters, feeling pain when urinating and other possible reactions not referenced here.
