Reactin

Reactin (Diclofenac Sodium) helps to target and reduce pain and swelling caused by chronic joint disorders such as arthritis, as well as acute pain due to injury or surgery. This medicine has proven anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-pyretic effects, and experts have theorized that it works by stopping the production of fatty acids known as prostaglandins. These lipid like substances are responsible for controlling many different mechanisms in the body, including inflammation. Blocking their synthesis can therefore treat pain. Its pharmacologic activity may also involve affecting other enzymes and receptors, which could further explain its pain relief benefits. Indications include osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, acute symptoms of gout, tendinitis, ankylosing spondylitis, pain from injuries and any other condition as deemed necessary by the physician.

Reactin (Diclofenac Sodium) comes as 50mg tablets. There is also another version available which comes in the form of 100mg strength prolonged release tablets. Your physician will advise you with regard to the correct dosage schedule and frequency of administration. Patients will generally be directed to take the tablets by mouth, together with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew or otherwise damage the prolonged release tablets, as this may affect their special release mechanism. In general, physicians will advise administration of the lowest possible daily dosage which will produce an effective response. Treatment usually lasts for a short time, and if the physician orders long term treatment, it is likely that regular medical checkups will be required.

Patients should be aware that side effects could occur during treatment with Reactin (Diclofenac Sodium) tablets, and you must inform the physician if this occurs. Examples can include:

• Vertigo
• Sweating
• Itchy sensation
• Drowsy or dizzy feeling
• Hearing a buzzing sound

Apart from the reactions listed above, there is also a chance that other side effects will occur. Serious reactions will require immediate medical care, including noticeable reductions in appetite, lower than normal levels of energy, urine discoloration, soreness when urinating, pale colored skin and any other severe adverse events which have not been referenced here.

Reactin (Diclofenac Sodium) is an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug), and treatment may put certain patients at risk of severe stomach problems, including ulceration and bleeding.

It is important that you do not drive or use machinery if you become tired or dizzy after taking the medicine.
