Glyco Flex

Glyco Flex (Perna Canaliculus/Glucosamine HCL/Dimethylglycine) is a joint supplement which strengthens the joints in dogs by providing them with important antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. It is also formulated with a chicken flavor so that the dog will readily consume it. This product is available as 3 different varieties to suit the individual needs of your dog. Glyco Flex I is recommended for use in dogs suffering from the early stages of joint problems. It contains 600mg of glucosamine, an animo sugar which is vital for maintaining the health of the cartilage in the joints.

Supplementing the diet with it may help to prevent the gradual loss of joint health. Perna canaliculus (the scientific name for green lipped muscle) has been widely researched for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. A study conducted by leading veterinarians showed that it could alleviate arthritis symptoms such as swelling and pain of the joints in dogs. Dimethylglycine may help prevent muscular tiredness and can also help with the immune system.

Glyco Flex III provides the maximum level of joint support and is normally used for older dogs, working dogs or dogs that have recently undergone surgery. In addition to containing a higher level of glucosamine (1000mg), it contains significantly more ingredients, some of which (such as grape seed extract and glutathione) have antioxidant properties. Vitamin C and other minerals are also added, and this helps boost its effects.

All of the Glyco Flex (Perna Canaliculus/Glucosamine HCL/Dimethylglycine) products available here are provided in tablet form. The veterinarian will calculate the required dosage based on the weight of your dog. For the initial treatment period (ranging from 4 to 6 weeks), dogs weighing up to 30 lbs may be treated with a half tablet per day. Dogs in the 31 lbs to 60 lbs weight range generally require 1 tablet per day, whereas dogs that weigh 61 lbs to 100 lbs may need 2 tablets per day.

Heavier dogs (100 lbs and more) usually need 2 and a half tablets per day. After the initial period of treatment, the veterinarian will reduce the dog`s dosage for maintenance treatment. If more than one tablet is given per day, the dosage will need to be divided. Always comply with the dosage instructions provided to you by the veterinarian in charge of treatment.
