Cholodin is used as a dietary choline loading supplement designed to boost the health of older cats or dogs by providing them with phospholipids, choline, amino acids, minerals and vitamins. Geriatric canine and feline pets often show signs of incontinence, a thin coat, tiredness, low appetite, constipation and other symptoms which veterinarians may not be able to explain with a single diagnosis. In cases like this, veterinarians may recommend use of a choline supplement so as to help the pet fight the signs of aging by means of an improved diet.
Phosphatidycholine and choline are both contained in this supplement. They are involved in many important functions in the body, including the synthesis of acetylcholine and important metabolic compounds. In addition to this, choline can help prevent dogs with diabetes from developing fatty liver syndrome. Various other vitamins and ingredients are contained, including vitamin B12, vitamin E, Zinc, selenium, inositol, methionine, lecithin, thiamine, pyridoxine, riboflavin, pantothenic acid and niacinamide.
Cholodin Feline is intended specifically for use in cats, and Cholodine Canine is for dogs. Both varieties come as chewable tablets which can be given directly to the animal or else crumbled and mixed with the food. It must be noted that the dosage required to treat cats may differ to that required for dogs. Cat owners may be directed to give their animal a dosage ranging from half a tablet to 1 whole tablet per day. In contrast to this, owners of large dogs may be told by the veterinarian to give 1 to 2 tablets to their animal, however small dogs may be treated with 1/2 a tablet or 1 tablet per day. Ensure that you give your pet the correct formulation, and make sure that all instructions given by the veterinarian are strictly complied with.
Some pets being treated with the choline loading supplement Cholodin may show signs of side effects during treatment, such as twitching of the muscles, overactivity and agitation. Bring your animal to the veterinarian if it is sick or suffering from side effects. In some cases, a 3 to 4 day break from treatment may be recommended in animals who suffer from the aforementioned side effects. When the veterinarian is satisfied that the symptoms have disappeared, the recommencement of treatment may be recommended.
Cholodin is a dietary supplement designed and intended for animal use. Under no circumstances should it be given to or taken by humans.
Bring your cat or dog to the veterinarian regularly for the necessary checkups and to ensure that the supplement is having its desired effects.
Before you give any supplements to your pet, it is advised that you seek the advice of a veterinarian to determine the suitability of the supplement.
