Flixotide

Flixotide (Fluticasone Propionate) inhaler or accuhaler is indicated for the prevention of airway inflammation and the excessive formation of mucus. This can help reduce or prevent asthma attacks. The active ingredient of this medicine is classified as a corticosteroid, and it possesses anti-inflammatory action. Inflammation is known to contribute to asthma symptoms, as it can cause the airways to tighten, which makes it less easy to breathe. This medicine binds to the glucocorticoid receptor and exhibits its therapeutic benefits on mast cells, lymphocytes and other cell types that can contribute to inflammation. Your physician will determine the most suitable option for treating your symptoms. Usually, it can take up to 7 days for this medicine to work, and if no improvement in your breathlessness or wheezing occurs after this you must consult your physician. Individualization of the dosage will be required by the physician, and adult patients are usually directed to use it twice per day with the exact amount of each dosage differing, depending on the opinion of the physician in charge of treatment.

If you notice any side effects after using Flixotide (Fluticasone Propionate) accuhaler or inhaler, ensure that you notify the physician in charge of treatment. Possible reactions may include:

• Hoarse voice
• Soreness of the tongue
