Amirol

Amirol (Amitriptyline Hydrochloride) is an antidepressant which has also been taken by patients for neuropathic pain. It is classified as a tricyclic antidepressant, and is believed to treat clinical depression by preventing the reuptake of biogenic amines such as serotonin and norepinephrine. This helps to increase and prolong the neuronal activity of these neurotransmitters, thereby helping to boost their positive effects on the mood and relieve depression. Amirol (Amitriptyline Hydrochloride) 10mg tablets are intended for use by means of oral administration. Adults undergoing treatment for depression may be instructed by their physician to begin treatment with a dosage ranging from 25mg to 100mg each day, possibly as 3 to 4 separate doses. This may be adjusted at the discretion of the physician. Patients taking this medicine for the prophylaxis of migraine may be directed by their physician to administer 10mg, once per day, just before bed. The dosage required for pain, pain disorders, post traumatic stress disorder or any other condition may differ and patients are advised to comply with their physician`s instructions.

Treatment of depression or any other condition with the tricyclic antidepressant Amirol (Amitriptyline Hydrochloride) could lead to side effects in some cases. You must inform your physician if this happens. Possible reactions include:

• Blurring of eyesight
• Concentration problems
