Fucibet

Fucibet Cream (Fusidic Acid/Betamethasone) is a topical medication prescribed to treat eczema infected with bacteria. It is a combination of fusidic acid, an antibacterial medication, and betamethasone which is a corticosteroid. Fusidic acid operates by disrupting cell wall maintenance to destroy sensitive bacteria cells while preventing reproduction to stop the spread of infection allowing the immune system to destroy it naturally. Betamethasone suppresses immune responses to prevent swelling, pain, and irritation associated with injury to treat the area affected with eczema while the antibacterial medication operates.

Note that this cream should not be used for infections caused by a virus or fungus. This medication may be prescribed to be used along with others or to treat other unlisted conditions.

Follow your physician`s instructions for using Fucibet Cream (Fusidic Acid/Betamethasone) to ensure the best results. It is typically prescribed to be applied one to three times each day, but your particular regimen will be determined by the severity of your symptoms, current health condition, and response to previous treatments. Do not self-medicate as the misuse of this medication may lead to unexpected or serious health problems.

Before administering the cream, thoroughly clean and dry your hands and the area being treated with soap and water. Put a small amount of medication to the affected area and gently massage it into the skin. Leave the area uncovered and allow any excess cream to air dry. If any cream contacts areas that are not affected by eczema, wipe it away as soon as possible. Wash your hands after each application to make sure the cream does not contact any areas not being treated. If it does touch your eyes, mouth, or nose, rinse it thoroughly and contact your physician. It is also recommended to administer the cream at the same times each day to get the most efficient results by keeping a consistent level of medicine on the skin at all times.

Consult your physician regularly while using the medicine to make sure it is having the desired results. After observing your progress and response to treatment, you may be instructed to adjust your dosage or frequency of administration until the best results occur. Side effects that may occur during treatment are:

• Puffiness or swelling of the skin
• Deterioration of eczema symptoms

Fucibet Cream (Fusidic Acid/Betamethasone) should not be used in patients who are children under six years of age or have rashes caused by syphilis, severe acne, rosacea, bacteria that is not secondary to eczema, viral skin infections, fungal skin infections, skin ulcers, rash surrounding the mouth, rash surrounding the genitals, or apply the cream to skin that is broken or damaged.

If the patient being treated is a child, inform your physician before beginning use as reduced frequency of administration or other adjustments to prevent these potential problems from occurring.
