Ridaura

Ridaura (Auranofin) is a gold complex which is classified as an antirheumatic medicine, and it helps to alleviate rheumatoid arthritis by modifying the activity of the disease. This suppression of the immune system helps to trigger a decrease in joint inflammation and swelling, as well as reducing pain. It is generally used when non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs don`t provide enough pain relief, and as much as 6 months of treatment may be required before the full benefits are noticed.

Ridaura (Auranofin) comes as 3mg strength tablets, and administration is via the oral route. Adults treating rheumatoid arthritis may be directed by their physician to begin therapy with 3mg per day for a 2 week period. After this, the physician may taper the dosage up to 6mg per day while ensuring that diarrhea or other gastrointestinal reactions are minimized. Certain adverse reactions caused by this medicine may be severe, and will require immediate medical attention.
