Priadel

Priadel (Lithium Carbonate) is a mood stabilizer used to treat bipolar disorder (manic depression) and other forms of depressive illness. Studies have demonstrated that it may work by affecting the sodium transport in the cells, so as to affect the production and metabolism of neurotransmitters in the brain. This in turn can decrease the occurrence of manic episodes, while also helping to manage hypo-mania and aggressive behavior.

Priadel (Lithium Carbonate) comes as special 100mg strength controlled release tablets. Administration is by mouth. Finding out the right dosage is complicated, and your physician will start you out with a low amount of medicine first. Your blood will be tested one week later to monitor the lithium levels, and adjustments will be made based on the result of this. Examples of this include hallucinations, urinating much more frequently than you normally would, strange fatigue, severe headaches, inflammation noticeable in the limbs or any other serious reactions that have not been referenced in this paragraph.
