Pantoprazole

Pantoprazole (Pantoprazole) is prescribed to treat a variety of illnesses including Gastro Esophaeal Reflux Disease, ulcers, Zollinger Ellison syndrome as well as certain other illnesses caused by high levels of stomach acid. It works by blocking the production of acid in order to help acid levels reduce to normal levels.

The common dosage is 1 tablet per day, taken before a meal. Prescription courses usually last for around 8 weeks. If you are feeling better, always consult your physician before you stop taking this medication. Swallow tablets whole, without chewing, crushing, splitting, or dissolving in liquid.

Report all side effects to your physician while taking Pantoprazole (Pantoprazole). Side effects which have been reported by patients include:

• Nausea
• Diarrhoea
• Vomiting
• Constipation

The following side effects are more serious and require medical attention as soon as possible:

• Leg cramp
• Water retention (edema)
• Muscle pain
• Dizziness
• Weakness
• Anxiety
• Abnormal heart beat

Pantoprazole (Pantoprazole) may not be safe for all patients. As a precaution, always disclose the following to your physician before you begin taking this medication:
