Somac

Somac (Pantoprazole Sodium Sesquihydrate) is used to treat and help heal duodenal and gastric ulcers. It is also used to treat other conditions where there is excess acid in the stomach causing discomfort and ill health such as Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome and Reflux Oesophagitis.

The usual dose is one tablet per day. However, if your physician also prescribes antibiotics with Somac (Pantoprazole Sodium Sesquihydrate), the dose is two tablets per day, morning and evening with or without food for 7 days. The dose and frequency that your physician prescribes for you depends on your medical condition.

Most common side effects of Somac (Pantoprazole Sodium Sesquihydrate) are headaches, diarrhoea, skin problems such as itchiness and rash, nausea, stomach pain, excessive gas in the stomach or bowel, increased sweating, dry mouth, dizziness, weakness or tiredness, swelling of the legs, metallic taste, fever, conjunctivitis, shortness of breath, hot flushes, high blood pressure, swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat which may cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing and muscle pain.
