Mal-A-Ket

Mal-A-Ket Shampoo (Chlorhexidine Gluconate/Ketoconazole/Acetic Acid) is a specially formulated antimicrobial and antifungal shampoo designed for use in cats, dogs and horses. It is indicated for the treatment of fungal and bacterial infections that affect the skin when the conditions are responsive to the active components or else to support healthy skin. Chlorhexidine gluconate is frequently used as an adjunctive treatment for skin infections caused by bacteria, and it even continues to be effective after rinsing.

Furthermore, bacteria are less likely to develop a resistance towards this ingredient. The addition of ketoconazole, a synthetic topical antifungal agent helps to protect against or treat fungal infections on the skin. Finally, acetic acid helps to cleanse the skin, as well as having other benefits. Together, this combination of antifungal and antibacterial ingredients helps to restore healthy skin in animals with skin infections.

If a veterinarian recommends use of Mal-A-Ket Shampoo (Chlorhexidine Gluconate/Ketoconazole/Acetic Acid) on your dog, cat or horse, it is very important to use it in accordance with the instructions provided. Ensure that the animal`s coat is wet before the shampoo is used. Rub the shampoo onto the skin and allow it to stay on the coat for at least 5 to 10 minutes. After this, it should be thoroughly rinsed clean. The veterinarian will tell you how long to continue treatment for. In some cases, the frequency of application may be reduced after 4 weeks of treatment, however, animal owners are advised to seek advice from a veterinarian to determine how often it needs to be applied.

If signs of irritation develop after using Mal-A-Ket Shampoo (Chlorhexidine Gluconate/Ketoconazole/Acetic Acid) or if the animal`s condition worsens, stop using the shampoo and take your animal to a veterinarian.
