Betamil Cream (Betamethasone Dipropionate) is a topical corticosteroid used to reduce skin inflammation. It is used to treat itchy skin conditions, eczema, dermatitis (skin inflammation), psoriasis, reddening of the skin.
Always use as directed by your doctor. Normally Betamil Cream (Betamethasone Dipropionate) is used on the affected area once or twice a day. Clean the affected area before applying a thin layer of cream. Rub it in until there is no visible trace of it remaining and wash your hands thoroughly. Do not cover the area with bandages or anything else unless directed by your physician.
Possible common side effects of Betamil Cream (Betamethasone Dipropionate) include temporary stinging when first applied to the skin and dry skin. If these persist or worry you, contact your physician. Severe side effects include hives, rashes, tightness in your chest, difficult breathing, swelling of your tongue, lips, mouth or tongue, or unusual burning, irritation, cracking or peeling, excessive hair growth, muscle weakness, skin discoloration, thinning or softening, inflammation of your hair follicles or around your mouth, or unexplained weight gain particularly around your face. If you experience any of these symptoms, contact your physician immediately or seek emergency medical assistance.
If using Betamil Cream (Betamethasone Dipropionate) for psoriasis you will need to see your physician regularly. It may work well short-term but can be detrimental long-term.
