Description
Famtrex (Famciclovir) is uesd to treat the virus that causes shingles and genital herpes. It does not cure either condition but reduces the itchiness and helps to heal any sores or blisters in the infected area. This drug works by inhibiting the ability of the virus to reproduce, reducing the spread of infection.
Patients will be prescribed between 125mg and 500mg up to 3 times daily depending on your condition. However you should only use Famtrex (Famciclovir) as directed by your doctor.
