YAZ (Drospirenone/Ethinylestradiol) in an oral contraceptive. The medication contains estrogen and progestin and is prescribed to prevent pregnancy. It may also be used to treat severe cases of premenstrual syndrome.

Tobacco, grapefruit juice, caffeine, and alcohol may interact with YAZ (Drospirenone/Ethinylestradiol). Discuss their use with your physician before using these substances to prevent unexpected problems. Also inform your physician if you have a history of abnormal menstrual cycles, kidney or liver problems, blood clots, heart problems, stroke, hypertension, depression, high cholesterol or potassium in your blood, cancer, or problems related to your gallbladder as these conditions may lead to unexpected complications.
