Urorec (Silodosin) is an oral alpha-adrenergic blocker prescribed to treat men suffering from an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia). The medication prevents the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotesterone to reduce the size of the prostate. This can reduce the occurrence of symptoms associated with this condition such as difficulty urinating, involuntary leakage of urine, or inability to empty the bladder.
