Questran Lite

Questran Lite (Cholestyramine Resin) is used to reduce the levels of cholesterol in the blood. By lowering cholesterol, this medication helps to reduce the risk of a heart attack or stroke. It works by reducing the amount of bile acid in the blood, which forces the liver to use more cholesterol in order to make bile acid, thereby lowering the cholesterol levels in the blood.

This medication may also be used to treat the itching caused by a blockage in the bile ducts of the gallbladder, known as partial biliary obstruction.

Strictly follow all instructions provided to you by your physician or pharmacist while using Questran Lite (Cholestyramine Resin). Optimum and safe dosage can differ based on the patient and the condition being treated. This medicine comes in the form of a powder. Patients should mix the a sachet of powder with a glass of water.

The exact dosage is different for each patient, depending on the condition being treated. Adult patients may be directed to take it up to 6 times per day, depending on their condition`s severity. However, patients should consult their physician before taking this medication in order to determine the correct dosage. Never exceed your prescribed dosage.
