Other potential applications include eye protection when grooming, so as to prevent irritation caused by shampoo and water and use in procedures that require anesthesia. One of the active ingredients in this ointment (white petrolatum or petroleum jelly) is widely used as a topical treatment for many different conditions and is well known for its lubricant properties. Mineral oil is also commonly used in ointments and lotions and is added to this sterile ointment.
Puralube Vet Ointment (Light Mineral Oil/White Petrolatum) must be administered in strict compliance with the instructions provided by the veterinarian.
