Olmo (Olmesartan Medoxomil) is used to treat patients suffering from hypertension or from high blood pressure. It is an Angiotensin II receptor antagonist, known in layman`s terms as an antihypertensive. It can be used as a standalone medication or combined alongside other antihypertensive drugs.
It works by relaxing the blood vessels, which leads to a fall in blood pressure. By reducing high clood pressure, the risks of kidney failure, stroke, heart attack, and heart failure are also reduced.
Olmo is not suitable for children 5 years old or under.

Adults are usually prescribed starting dose of 20mg once a day. Patients at higher risk of dangerous conditions associated with high blood pressure may be prescribed a higher dose.
