Mobic (Meloxicam) is an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) with anti-rheumatic properties. It is indicated for the treatment of pain and swelling occurring as a result of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and other conditions. This medicine exhibits its analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity by inhibiting the action of cyclo-oxygenase (COX), so as to prevent the synthesis of inflammatory prostaglandins (substances that can contribute to swelling and pain). It is therefore considered by many physicians to be an effective choice for pain and inflammation relief.
Mobic (Meloxicam) comes as 7.5mg strength tablets, and they are intended for oral use. Deciding and determining the daily dosage regimen will be the responsibility of your physician. Adults taking this medicine for the symptomatic relief of rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis are sometimes directed by the physician providing treatment to start out with 7.5mg per day. In some cases, the physician may decide to make changes or adjustments to the dosage schedule, however, you must not take more than your physician directs you to administer as this could place your health at risk.
Use of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug Mobic (Meloxicam) could result in side effects. Report all reactions to your physician. Some possible reactions are listed here:
The above listed reactions are generally considered to be mild in nature. If you suffer from any serious or dangerous adverse reactions, see your physician straight away. Examples of this can include blistering visible on the skin, sudden or unusual body weight gain, excess fatigue, soreness when urinating, pale discolored skin and other side effects that have not been referenced here.
Mobic (Meloxicam) is in the NSAID class of medicines, and these medicines have been associated with causing bleeding of the stomach or perforation. In extreme cases, this may even prove fatal. Ensure that you discuss this with your physician before the commencement of treatment.
Use of this medicine (especially on a prolonged basis) could trigger serious circulation disorders or heart problems.
