Edronax (Reboxetine) is an antidepressant medicine which is classified as a noradrenaline re-uptake inhibitor (NARI). Its mechanism of action involves acting at the synaptic cleft so as to affect the reuptake of noradrenaline in the brain. This in turn triggers an increase in the amount of noradrenaline in the synaptic cleft, which is believed by experts to be what contributes to its effects on the emotions and feelings. Patients may experience relief from depression and improved social adjustment. Certain studies have taken place which focused on its effects if used for ADHD or panic disorder.
Edronax (Reboxetine) tablets contain 4mg of the active ingredient. Your physician will conduct an examination to assess your current health and treatment needs. Adults treating depression are sometimes instructed to take 4mg (equal to a single tablet) twice per day. The physician may decide to adjust this dosage to 10mg per day depending on the response of the patient. Patients with renal function problems may instead be ordered to start out with 4mg per day. In all cases, strict compliance with the instructions of the physician is needed.
It is quite possible that some patients taking Edronax (Reboxetine) might notice certain side effects throughout treatment. These will need to be reported to the physician. Possible reactions include:
The above list of side effects does not include all of the possible reactions that can be caused by this medicine. Some of the side effects can even have the potential to pose a serious threat to the patient`s health, and will necessitate immediate hospitalization. However, these are generally a less common occurrence. Examples can include pain in the testicles, aggression, hyponatremia, eye pressure, Raynaud`s syndrome as well as others not referenced here.
Edronax (Reboxetine) and other antidepressant medicines have been associated with causing suicidal ideation or abnormal behavioral changes. Call your physician straight away if this happens.
This medicine can cause a serious drug interaction if taken alongside a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (or other types of antidepressants), or within 14 days of taking one. Talk to your physician about this before beginning treatment.
