E-MYCIN (Erythromycin Ethyl Succinate) is a tablet form antibiotic prescribed for a range of different infections of the bacterial kind, such as respiratory tract infections, skin infections, acute pelvic inflammatory disease, etc.
Dose as prescribed by your physician. Never change your dosage unless instructed to do so by a health care professional. Usual dosage is 500mg of E-MYCIN (Erythromycin Ethyl Succinate) every 12 hours. This medication is taken whole with a full glass of water, on an empty stomach. You may experience nausea after taking, in which case you could try taking with a snack or glass of milk. Do not chew, crush, or divide this medication.
As with all antibiotics it is very important you finish the course of medication you have been prescribed. Finishing early can result in relapses of the infection.
If you have missed a dose take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose, in which case you should skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not double a dose to compensate for a previous one you have missed.
When taking E-MYCIN (Erythromycin Ethyl Succinate) you should inform your physician if any of these side effects below are persistent or bothersome.
