Burinex (Bumetanide) is used to treat the symptoms of fluid retention in patients who suffer from liver disease, kidney disorders, as well as those with congestive heart failure. It is effective in treating fluid retention by helping the body to produce more urine, which in turn helps the body to get rid of excess salt and water. This helps to relieve the symptoms of fluid retention, such as shortness of breath and swollen limbs. This medication may also be used to treat high blood pressure.
Burinex (Bumetanide) tablets are usually taken daily and adult patients are usually instructed to take this medication once or twice daily. However, patients are advised to consult their physician before taking this medication, in order to determine the correct dosage required to treat their condition. As this tablet increases urination, it should be taken at least 4 hours before bedtime to disturbing sleep.
Some side effects which have been reported by patients taking Burinex (Bumetanide) include:
Although rare, there are other more serious side effects associated with this drug. Consult a physician immediately if you notice numb or swollen limbs, hearing changes, dehydration, hallucinations, or seizures.
Patients who have diabetes should have their sugar level checked regularly by their physician. Your diet and/or diabetes medication may need to be adjusted while you are taking this medication.
