Acidurin (Ammonium Chloride) is used to treat infections of the urinary tract in cats and dogs, and is also used to rid the urine of possible magnesium ammonium phosphate crystals. This medication is therefore useful in relieving some of the pain associated with urinary tract infections, and controlling the acidification of urine in pets.
The prescribing vet will tell you how much Acidurin (Ammonium Chloride) tablets you need to administer to your animal, and you will also be told how long you need to continue treating it for. Vets generally decide the required dosage based on the animal`s weight, at a rate of one tablet for every 11 pounds (5kg) of weight, twice each day.
Owners should note that in some cases, Acidurin (Ammonium Chloride) might cause side effects. Serious side effects are rare. Take your pet to a veterinarian immediately if it suffers from any side effects.
There is a chance that this medication may cause fetal acidosis if used in pregnant animals.
This product is only for use in animals, and should not be taken by humans.
