Tugain Gel (Minoxidil) is used for the treatment of male type baldness (androgenic alopecia) in men and women. Tugain Gel (Minoxidil) stimulates hair growth in androgen-dependent baldness. The mechanism of enhanced hair growth is presumably associated with vasodilation and improvement of microcirculation in the skin and trophism of hair follicles, stimulation of the transition of hair follicles from the resting phase (telogen phase) to the growth phase (anagen phase). Tugain Gel (Minoxidil) modulates the effects of androgens on hair follicles. It reduces the formation of 5-alpha dehydrosterone (possibly indirectly), which plays a significant role in the formation of baldness.
