Valgan

Valgan (Valganciclovir) is used to treat cytomegalovirus infections (CMV) which are often suffered by patients with AIDS. It is an antiviral drug that operates by preventing virus cells from reproducing to slow or stop the spread of the infection. This action may also make it useful for preventing the occurrence of CMV in patients who have undergone organ transplants. It should be noted that this medication will not cure the infection and is merely an effective means of management.

Consult your physician before using Valgan (Valganciclovir) to get the best results from treatment. One tablet is normally taken once or twice each day, but your individual instructions will depend on your health condition and symptom severity. The tablets should be swallowed with a large glass of water and a meal to prevent nausea. Do not split or crush the tablets to prevent destroying or altering the effects of their contents. There is chance of experiencing side effects while using Valgan (Valganciclovir). These are usually mild, but should still be reported to your physician.

• Upset stomach
• Dizziness
• Drowsiness

Inform your physician as soon as possible if you notice any of the following severe side effects:

• Mood or behavioral changes
• Urination changes
• Shaking or tremors
• Seizures

Do not use Valgan (Valganciclovir) if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have severe kidney failure. Also inform your physician if you have anemia, a low white blood cell count, decreased liver function, or decreased kidney function to avoid potential health complications that may occur.
