Sebizole Shampoo (Ketoconazole) is an antidandruff shampoo indicated for the prophylaxis and treatment of seborrheic dermatitis on the scalp. It has antifungal properties and is active against many types of fungi and yeasts, including pityosporum. When used for dandruff, it helps to clear up the flakiness and relieve redness, which is achieved by neutralizing the fungi responsible for causing symptoms. Clinical trials have shown promising effects in the treatment of AGA (androgenetic alopecia).
Shaltop Solution (Minoxidil/Tretinoin) is a topical treatment for male pattern hair loss containing two active ingredients. Minoxidil works by triggering the hair growth cycles and increasing the circulation of blood in the area surrounding the hair follicles. Patients affected by hair loss on the vertex may grow new hair, and the balding process may also be slowed down. Tretinoin is also contained, as it is believed to increase the absorption of minoxidil, which is achieved by making the stratum corneum (the outer layer of skin) more permeable. The products in this package can therefore help to treat baldness and dandruff.
Both of these treatments require slightly different application procedures. Compliance with your physician`s instructions is needed in order to achieve effective results. Adult patients are sometimes told to use Sebizole Shampoo (Ketoconazole) twice per week, with the shampoo being rubbed into wet hair, and allowed to remain for 3 to 5 minutes before being washed clean. Shaltop Solution (Minoxidil/Tretinoin) is used on dry hair. It should be rubbed into the scalp and allowed to remain. Your physician will determine the required frequency of administration.
Topical use of Sebizole Shampoo (Ketoconazole) or Shaltop Solution (Minoxidil/Tretinoin) could lead to mild dermatological reactions, such as itching, dryness or irritation. If any serious reactions are experienced, go to the hospital immediately.
In rare cases, minoxidil can be absorbed transdermally into the bloodstream. Symptoms of this include dizziness, loss of consciousness, fatigue and others not mentioned here. Consult your physician straight away if this happens.
Sebizole Shampoo (Ketoconazole) and Shaltop Solution (Minoxidil/Tretinoin) are for external application to the scalp only and must never be taken orally.
Inform your physician if you are affected by any heart conditions, as absorption of minoxidil into the body could have an effect on the heart.
