Prexaron

Prexaron (Citicoline) may be useful in the treatment of stroke and brain injury. There is some preliminary evidence that CDP-choline may be helpful in some with tardive dyskinesia, Parkinson`s disease, Alzheimer`s disease and other conditions characterized by impaired cognitive function, including memory loss. An indication may emerge for it to help improve visual acuity in those with amblyopia.

Prexaron (Citicoline) should be taken as directed by doctor. Do not take it in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor. It is taken orally with a glass of water. The tablet should be swallowed whole. Do not chew, crush or dissolve in liquid.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one, continuing as normal. Never double a dosage to make up for a missed dose. Ask your doctor or medical advisor to give you explanation on any part you do not understand.

The most common side effects associated with using Prexaron (Citicoline) are:

• headache
• irregular heartbeat
• diarrhea
• low blood pressure
• dizziness
• lightheadedness
• vomiting
• nausea

The severe side effects which are very rare include:

• tightening of the chest
• closing of the throat
• severe skin rash
• hives
• difficulty breathing
• swelling of the lips, tongue, throat and mouth

Contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the above side effects.

Prexaron (Citicoline) is known to cause increased dizziness and drowsiness in users. As a result, it is strongly recommended that users do not operate any type of machinery throughout the course of treatment.

Regular checkups with your doctor will be required while using this medication to monitor progress and ensure that the medication is working properly.
