Posmeal MD (Voglibose) is an oral hypoglycemic medication, a competitive inhibitor of intestinal α-glucosidases (hydrolytic enzymes), which are involved into the breakdown di-, oligo-, and polysaccharides. The inhibition of α-glucosidases leads to the slowdown in the complex carbohydrates breakdown and glucose absorption.
