Pletoz (Cilostazol) is used to improve oxygen and blood circulation in the legs. It is predominantly used to reduce intermittent claudication symptoms, where patients suffer pains in their legs when walking which normally subsides with rest.
This medication will help patients with this condition to walk for longer periods of time and for further distances by preventing certain blood cells (platelets) from clotting. It does this by increasing blood flow and oxygen, which in turn helps to widen the blood vessels in the legs, reducing the amount of painful blood clots forming.
Always discuss with your physician the suitable dosage for you. Dosage can vary from patient to patient depending on several individual factors, including medical history, current condition, and other meds being taken. Typically, recommended dosage is 50mg to 100mg taken 2 times a day.
