Nimodip (Nimodipine) is a product used to treat symptoms resulting from a ruptured blood vessel in the brain (hemorrhage). It increases blood flow to injured brain tissue.
Nimodip (Nimodipine) comes in tablet form and is taken by mouth. It should be taken on an empty stomach, either 1 hour before a meal, or 2 hours after a meal. Contact your physician if you have any questions and to explain anything you do not understand.
Although side effects from Nimodip (Nimodipine) are not common, they can occur. See your physician immediately if you have any swelling of the face, eyes, lips, arms or legs. If you have any difficulty breathing or swallowing, feel faint or have fainting spells, or experience a rash, see your physician immediately. If you experience severe headaches; dizziness or lightheadedness; flushing (feeling hot); heartburn; fast heartbeat; slow heartbeat; upset stomach; stomach pain; constipation; depression; unusual bruising or bleeding; tell your physician.
Avoid drinking grapefruit juice or eating grapefruit while taking Nimodip (Nimodipine). You should also avoid drinking alcohol.
Tell your physician if you have ever had heart, kidney or liver disease. Tell your physician if you are pregnant, or become pregnant while taking this medicine. If you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell your physician or dentist that you are taking this drug.
