Uses
K-BroVet contains Potassium Bromide and is used to control seizures in epileptic dogs. K-BroVet also contains vitamin B12 which encourages healthy neurological function.
Dosage and Administration
Each pack of K-BroVet contains 60 x 250mg tablets.
A general starting dose for dogs is:
- to achieve a serum level of 1 mg/mL is give 54.5 mg/lb once a day for the first 5 days, followed by 13.6 mg/lb once a day
- to achieve a serum level of 1.5 mg/mL is give 72.7 mg/lb once a day for the first 5 days, followed by 18 mg/lb once a day
Regular blood tests will be taken to observe serum levels and adjust the dosage as needed.
Precautions
Your vet will need to know some things about your dog before prescribing K-BroVet including any allergies, any other medicines your dog is taking, if your dog is pregnant or lactating, or if your dog has any kidney disease.
K-BroVet is a medicine intended for dogs. It should not be taken by humans or given to any other pets.
