Sofosbuvir is also can be used in HCV patients with an HIV coinfection and safe to use with patient who is waiting for liver transplant.

Sofosbuvir can be take 1 tablet a day before or after meal around the same time every day. You may to use at appropriate amount by instructing from your doctor. This medication is taken in combination with pegylated interferon and ribavirin, or with ribavirin alone, it usually taken for 12-24 weeks.

If you have liver cancer and are waiting for a liver transplant, you will take sofosbuvir with ribavirin for up to 48 weeks or until you have a liver transplant. The length of your treatment depends on your condition, how well you respond to the medication, and whether you experience severe side effects.

You should not take this medicine alone. This medicine should be used together with ribavirin or in combination with peginterferon alfa and ribavirin.

The Combination Therapy with pegylated interferon and ribavirin can cause birth defects or cause death to unborn baby. If you are pregnant or decided to become pregnant, do not take these medicines. If you are unsure of being pregnant, a pregnant test is needed before starting for this treatment.

You should tell your doctor if you have had a liver transplant, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), kidney disease, or any type of liver disease other than hepatitis C. Should tell the doctor if you are allergic of this medication of any ingredient of Sofosbuvir tablets.

Do not change dosage or stop taking before talking with your doctor or healthcare provider. If you miss a dose of Sofosbuvir, take the missed dose as soon as you remember it on same day. However, if you do not remember the missed dose until the next day, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses on the same day.
