Dimetriose

Dimetriose (Gestrinone) is used to treat endometriosis, a condition where tissue resembling the uterus lining grows elsewhere in the body. Endometriosis is caused by an imbalance of estrogen, and this medication works by correcting the imbalance and as a result preventing the tissue from growing further.

Patients should use Dimetriose (Gestrinone) as directed by their physician. One capsule should be taken twice per week, unless told otherwise by your physician. Usually, the first dose should be taken on the first day of your period and the second dose should be taken three days later. Patients should then dose on these same days each week, at the same times of day for best results.

Patients taking Dimetriose (Gestrinone) have reported the following side effects:

• Acne
• Fluid retention
• Hair loss
• Reduction in breast size

This drug may also cause other side effects which are more serious. Consult your physician promptly if you notice any unusual symptoms after you start taking this medication.
