Apresoline Injection (Hydralazine Hydrochloride) is used for its peripheral vasodilating effects to treat a hypertensive crisis, for example to treat or prevent pre-ecalmpsia and eclampsia (seizures occurring during pregnancy). It is also indicated for the treatment of severe high blood pressure in people suffering from kidney disease. This medicine works by relaxing muscular tissue in the arterioles and other vessels, leading to a reduction in blood pressure.
Apresoline Injection (Hydralazine Hydrochloride) comes as ampoules. This medicine needs to be injected intravenously by a physician, and administration will take place in a hospital. In some cases, physicians have administered 5mg to 10mg intravenously, with a repeat administration 20 to 30 minutes later if deemed necessary. However, the correct amount to administer will always be decided by the physician providing treatment. Constant monitoring of the patient`s blood pressure will be required to ensure that the blood pressure can return to normal levels.
Side effects of Apresoline Injection (Hydralazine Hydrochloride) include:
Ensure that the physician who is treating you is informed of any reactions or side effects that occur after the injection has been given. Patients treated with this medicine will be under close medical supervision, to ensure that no serious reactions occur.
