Alizin is an injection containing the active ingredient Aglepristone. It is used to terminate unwanted pregnancy in dogs within the first 45 days after mating. Alizin works by blocking progesterone, which results in the loss of pregnancy.
Alizin is packaged as a 10mL vial of injection. Each mL of liquid contains 30mg of Aglepristone.
10mg per kg of bodyweight of aglepristone (0.33mL per kg up to a maximum of 5mL) should be injected subcutaneously. This will need to be repeated 24 hours later.
Abortion or resorption should occur within 7 days.
Alizin can result in the following side effects in dogs:

Alizin is for use in dogs only. It must not be taken by humans. Pregnant women should be very careful if administering Alizin.
