Uses

Alizin is an injection containing the active ingredient Aglepristone. It is used to terminate unwanted pregnancy in dogs within the first 45 days after mating. Alizin works by blocking progesterone, which results in the loss of pregnancy.

Dosage and Administration

Alizin is packaged as a 10mL vial of injection. Each mL of liquid contains 30mg of Aglepristone.

Side effects

Alizin can result in the following side effects in dogs:

  • anorexia
  • excitations
  • depression
  • diarrhea
  • vomitting

Precautions

To reduce the possibility of lack of expected efficacy, avoid the use of Alizin until after the end of oestrus and avoid new mating before the end of oestrus.

Partial abortion can occur in some cases. Have your vet check that a full abortion has taken place. Subsequent treatments may be required if this is not the case.

Alizin is for use in dogs only. It must not be taken by humans. Pregnant women should be very careful if administering Alizin.

Alizin should not be used in cases where:
