Adapen Gel (Adapalene) is a topical medication used to treat mild to moderate acne. It works by decreasing the growth of cells that block the pores and glands, thereby reducing the amount of blackheads and spots formed. It can also affect the growth of skin cells, which helps to exfoliate the outer skin. Your physician may also prescribe this medication to treat other unlisted conditions.
Always use Adapen Gel (Adapalene) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never apply more than the prescribed amount to your skin, as this could be harmful.
Patients are always advised to wash both face and hands before applying the gel, and gently dry the face with a delicate and clean towel. The prescribed amount of gel may then be applied to the face. In some cases, the acne may worsen during the initial weeks of treatment. It generally takes 8 to 12 weeks of treatment for the full benefits of treatment with this gel to be noticed.
