According to various data about 70% of all women at least once in their life, but faced with such a disease as vaginal candidiasis, caused by intense reproduction of fungi of the family Candida. Candidiasis vaginitis is an infectious disease of the genital tract, although the reason for its manifestation is not necessarily unprotected sexual intercourse. Candida yeast exists in the body of all women and does not make themselves known until some circumstances arise under which their intense reproduction begins.
Symptoms of vaginal candidiasis
Symptoms of vaginal candidiasis are very difficult to confuse with the manifestations of other infectious diseases. Even before the appearance of visible signs, a woman is already beginning to feel itchy in the vagina, which increases after the water procedures with warm water and in the evening time.
The disease has several options: chronic and acute.
Acute vaginal candidiasis
With this type of urogenital candidiasis, the inflammatory changes in the vaginal mucosa are pronounced. The disease lasts no longer than 2 months and is accompanied by the following signs:
- cheesy consistency excreta, which can be both moderate and abundant;
- burning feeling and itching in the genital area (especially acute after urination, sexual contact, during the menstrual cycle and when wearing synthetic linen);
- increases the frequency of urination, during which there are painful feelings;
- visually visible swelling and redness of the vaginal walls.
At the end of 2 months, if the treatment was not worked out, the thrush passes into recurrent vaginal candidiasis (chronic form).
Chronic vaginal candidiasis
When relapsing disease signs are weakly expressed or disappear completely, manifesting periodically:
Secretions have a liquid consistency, white, odorless;
Visually you can observe atrophy of the vaginal mucosa;
Itching is almost not felt, but increases after hypothermia and intercourse.
In periods when the disease becomes aggravated, all signs of acute form begin to manifest.
Vaginal Candidiasis during Pregnancy
A pregnant woman has a higher risk of developing thrush due to changes in the hormonal background; therefore, vaginal candidiasis in pregnant women occurs 4 times more often. Fetuses in the mother’s womb risk becoming infected with this disease no less. The fungus that provokes thrush, gets into the mouth of the baby, striking the esophagus and passes to other organs, endangering the baby’s life. Even if the fetus avoids infection, there is a high probability of its infection during labor, where the baby will go through genital channels with an existing infection.

About how to treat vaginal candidiasis, there is a lot of information. But there are two common rules for treating candidiasis:
