What diseases can develop due to wet feet?
The result of walking in puddles can be the following diseases:
- rhinitis, cold, acute respiratory syndrome. Many people believe that these diseases cannot develop only due to hypothermia, and this is true. But thanks to this, the strength of the immune system can be weaken, which will create conditions for the reproduction of viruses and bacteria. As a result, sinusitis and inflammation of the lungs may develop;
- inflammation of the genital system, cystitis – a disease with an unpleasant set of symptoms, which in the future can become a catalyst for infectious diseases of the kidneys;
- various kidney diseases, inflammation of the urinary bladder – their untimely treatment contributes to the development of chronic forms;
- arthritis – if you have this disease, it can worsening;
- prostatitis – directly affects the occurrence of male infertility;
- neuralgia of the sciatic nerve;
Fungal infection should be discussed separately – it is impossible to exaggerate the scale of discomfort in the nascent of fungus on the legs. Coolness and wetness promote to the activation of fungi. But don’t exaggerate it with warming your feet. Tights, several pairs of socks, boots with a fur lining are the ideal environment for the reproduction of these pathogens. First aid for wet feet
If your feet are already wet, you need to urgently perform manipulations to quickly restore the “dry state” of your feet.
Experts recommend:
- change your shoes as soon as possible – get to your destination faster, change shoes. If you haven’t got dry shoes, just take off your wet ones. The main thing is that the feet are not in wet shoes and socks anymore, as this can contribute to the development of fungus and other diseases;
- to warm up. If possible, put insulated socks on dry feet and warm your hands under a stream of warm water. Active points that send “warming signals” to the whole body are located on the hands;
- do a massage. This will help you to improve blood flow. To speed up warming, massage can be done using a woolen cloth, as well as using warming ointments or alcohol-containing liquids. The movements should be carried out clockwise and continue until the legs are fully warmed up.
